A member of the Reform Party, Percy Annan says the former first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings is only being petty with threats to place a ban on the use of the NDC?s logo, the umbrella.
In a letter written to the National Chairman of the NDC, Dr. Kwabena Adjei, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings stated that she holds the copyright to the logo known as the ?akatamanso? which the party uses as its symbol.
According to her, she would withdraw the logo if the leadership of the party continues to disrespect the ideals of the party and her family.
The leadership of the NDC has however, stated that even though they are unfazed by threats of Mrs. Rawlings, they will meet to take a decision on the party?s logo.
Speaking on Radio XYZ?s Current Affairs show, The Analyst on Saturday, Mr. Annan said what is going on in the NDC is a struggle for control and power.
He added that the path chosen by Mrs. Rawlings is a path of destruction which could lead to the Rawlingses losing their popularity very soon.
?The nature of what is going on is a struggle for control and power over the NDC and by extension the government. What is unfolding is essentially a mixture of messianic delusions, dynastic ambitions for themselves [Rawlingses] and their children? he said.
?As for Mrs. Rawlings, I see her as an object of pity; she has to go along the road she has cut for herself, which is a path of destruction for her and Mr Rawlings. It will come to a point when Mr Rawlings will stand by a street corner and will have nobody to acknowledge his presence? Mr Annan added.
