Ghanaian defender Nana Akwasi-Asare scored on Thursday night to hand FC Utrecht the advantage in their Dutch League Europa play-off with a 3-1 victory over FC Groningen.
Left-back Asare added the second goal for Utrecht in the 23rd minute with a shot from the right high inside the net.
Ricky van Wolfswinkel had opened the scoring a minute earlier.
Tim Matavz pulled one back five minutes before the break, but Andreas Granqvist put through his own net to deal Groningen a sucker punch in the last minute.
The second leg will be played on Sunday.
Keeping on doing your best nana, let the sky be your limit and believe me, both the GFA and the coach will start running after you soon.
good job my man,i’ve been watching him playing couple of times and he’s delight to watch.ppls who dont know nothing about football talk of his yellow card accumulation.technically he did not received straight red card,so that shows how discipline and tactical he’s.due to his contribution and his mobilility on the field, surely he’s bound to attract cards.too bad that most ghanaians dont get the chance to watch the holland league.i only call for the inclusion of players who can add quality to the stars.nana akwasi is the right person to deputize sarpei, ghanaians are soo funy to even compare lee and david addy to nana akwasi looking at his performance in both belgium holland,he has been one of the most consistent ghanaian players in eu for the last 2 seasons.these are some of the things that makes some of us not to like milo.players hard work must be rewarded but playing for their nation team.

@ sabacious, there is no way you can compare Lee Addy or even David Addy to Nana Asare, Lee is a Classic Central Defender, well composed & disciplined, i doubt if you have watched him play,
for David Addy, OMG, it will surprise my if u will want to claim your bet over Nana ahead of David, then the masses will now know that you haven’t even kicked a ball before to know a great player.
@dipole i wonder why some of u talk without any facts, who told u lee addy is a central defender? lee addy is left back defender and his ability to play in central defence doesn’t make him central defender,he’s good in the air but commit alot of blunders and very sluggish to my liking.i guess anyone who has seen those 3 players playing will laugh at u.both david and lee addy dont come near nana akwasi but due to the politics that goes on in the stars, does rahim ayew, afful, daniel yeboah, adiyiah and daniel agyei have all be in the team ahead of established players like derek, abeyie, sarpei, narry, buabeng, kumordzi, eric bekoe and the rest.rahim ayew doesn’t merit a place in the stars but due to the influence of his father and link in gh football,he’s in the team.buabeng and nana akwasi shd have atleast be in the provisional list.anmyway all the best to the stars.
Sabacious is right,Lee Addy is naturally a left back.I could remember last November when he made his debut for the black stars against Mali in Kumasi he played @ the left black and that was the position he use to be play at.Nana Kwesi Asare for my money is far better than both David& Lee Addy is really strange how such talent is been overlooked.
nana asare is better so stevanovic should call him becos he is good player, wat a wonderful star.
nana asare is the next Ghana messi,i tell u he is better and we must watchout becos he get more qualities.no size
nana asare best 3 the whole Ghana
