Ghanaian winger Nana Akwasi Asare made a return from injury to play in FC Utrecht’s 1-0 away victory over Roda JC on Friday.
The 26-year-old was ruled out of action for close to three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in an Eredivisie game against NAC Breda at the Rat Verlegh Stadion.
Utrecht manager Jan Wouters named the former KV Mechelen left-back in his starting-line after he won the fitness battle.
He lasted 73 minutes of the game before being replaced by Kai Heerings as a Dave Bulthuis’ 34th minute strike claimed the points for Utrecht.
Asare has scored once in five games for Utrecht this season.
the only Ghanaian captaining a team in one of the europe top leagues.he has been the most consistent ghanaian player for the past 3years.as an African appointed as a leader to lead among his whites team mates shows is exceptional qualities both on and off the field but strangely those corrupt official incharge of the stars prefer average players like nuhu, masahudu and afful to david addy, nana akwasi and wakaso who are far far better than the above mentioned players in all aspect of the game.we keep on complaining of our leftfull back position whilst we turn blind eye to players who are playing week in week out in one of the major european leagues inn the world.
