Ghanaian winger Nana Akwasi Asare made a return from injury to play in FC Utrecht's 1-0 away victory over Roda JC on Friday.
The 26-year-old was ruled out of action for close to three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in an Eredivisie game against NAC Breda at the Rat Verlegh Stadion.
Utrecht manager Jan Wouters named the former KV Mechelen left-back in his starting-line after he won the fitness battle.
He lasted 73 minutes of the game before being replaced by Kai Heerings as a Dave Bulthuis' 34th minute strike claimed the points for Utrecht.
Asare has scored once in five games for Utrecht this season.
