Atletico Madrid forward Raul Garcaa says drawing AC Milan in the first knockout round of the UEFA Champions League will delight Ghana international Sulley Muntari.
Muntari had suggested prior to the draw that Atlético Madrid were possibly the weakest of opponents in the knock-out stage, hoping they would get the Spanish side.
Asked for a response to that after the draw, García smiled as he suggested his own team are up to the challenge that awaits them.
“We know that people have a lot of respect for us. Muntari has said he’d prefer to get us and well, he’s got what he wants now and they’ll have to beat us if they want to get into the next round.”
The matches will be played in February next year.
Muntari was a member of the Inter Milan side which won the UEFA Champions League in 2010.
