Muntari fails to make injury comeback in Palermo draw

Muntari remained on the bench in AC Milan's draw at Palermo

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari was an unused substitute in AC Milan’s 2-2 draw at Palermo on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old has made a tremendous recovery from a serious knee injury sustained in the summer to make the Rossoneri team for the Serie-A game.

Muntari was however deemed not match fit to play a part in Milan’s fight back from two goals down.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side were two down by the 47th minute with goals from Fabrizio Miccoli and Franco Brienza.

However a Riccardo Montolivo goal in the 69th minute put the former champions well on their way to recovery which was achieved with a late Stephane El Shaarawy strike.

The draw now sees Milan who have had a woeful start to their Serie-A season rise to ninth ahead of the second batch of games to be played on Wednesday.
