Sulley Muntari has praised Kwesi Appiah for his call-ups

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has endorsed the call-ups of coach Kwasi Appiah for the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan.

Appiah has come under immense pressure following the poor performance of the Black Stars at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Many have questioned the selection criteria of the ex Ghana captain especially after  Marseille striker Jordan Ayew was excluded from the Nations Cup squad.

But Muntari has jumped to the defence of the technical head, saying his decisions must be respected.

“Our manager is great, stuff didn’t go well during the African Cup but he is very cool, he and his assistant,” the AC Milan ace said.

“He is the boss so he can choose whoever he wants to be in the national team. The guys here are great and they are training good and they are very respectful.

“You can have good players and stuff like that but if no one respects and stuff like that you won’t be able to go far.”

Muntari is making a return to the team after missing the Nations Cup in South Africa due to the lack of match fitness.

    • texas says:

He said nothing about confrontation! he did not say he was a saint! all Muntari was talking about was the respect and support the players at the moment including himself have for their boss AA!

    • askantwi says:

Nyaho Tamakloe is an idiot and dumb as hell. You see how he attached Akwasi Appiah for calling 23 players? He is not happy that Akwasi Appiah is not kissing the ass of the Ayews.

  3. Paul says:

Muntari matured now to understand that no matter how good u are on the field of play, if u lack discipline, u do urself more harm than good. Thank u muntari.. i hope the other players will reason like that. GO GHANA!

WEEL SAID MUNTARI, DEDICATION SHOULD GO WITH RESPECT AND NOT FIGHTING FOR NO. 10 JERSEY AND CAPTAINSHIP.. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Don Justy says:

Whether he was disrespectful, had confrontation or not, muntari never quit the BS. Meaning he has a gud precedence n the moral right to advice this egotistic Ayew letter writers… beat that…

  10. Bannor says:

Than u muntari for that message tn your friends

  11. Don Justy says:

Correction well noted. But thank God he didn’t quit b’cos of selection problem with the coach, but rather his girlfriend issues, yet he didn’t make it a big deal b’cos he rescinded the decision unconditionally soon after…

    • Ali says:

It is even worse to quit the National team because your girlfriend wasn’t given preferential treatment and you go about hurling insult on a minister of state. That is indiscipline at its peak. Dede Ayew clearly is one of the best and most dedicated blackstar player over the past few years. For him not be called because of political reasons is amateurish and silly. Ofcoures, it is only the worse local coach in Ghana who will do that.

  12. Hassan says:

@Don J. well said keep it up
