AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari yearning to return to action after missing chunk of the first half of the season through injury.

The 28-year-old suffered a knee injury in the off season and only returned in December before the winter break.

But the Ghana international was pegged back by a calf injury sent him back to the treatment room.

“I cannot wait to come back. I have been out of action for a long time, just watching my team-mates and now it is time for me to join the first team again, to help out and do well,” Muntari told Milan Channel.

“I came back quickly from the knee injury but then had problems with my calf and thigh.

“I was a little angry with myself but I know my time will come and when it does hopefully I will keep my place and I really hope to help the team.”

Muntari had a successful six-month loan spell last season but has managed just two appearances in the Serie A.
