Sully Mutari axed from AC Milan's Champions League list

By Ameenu Shardow

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has been left out of AC Milan’s squad for this season’s Uefa Champions League.

The 28-year-old is currently nursing a serious knee injury he picked up while on vacation in his native country.

The ex Udinese man has thus paid the ultimate price for his injury as he has been dropped from the 28-man squad for Europe’s flagship competition.

Muntari will however get the opportunity to feature in the Champions League if he is able to recover and prove his fitness by January when amendments will be made to the squad.

The Rossoneri are hoping to better their quarter final finish achieved in last season’s competition where they were kicked out by Spanish giants Barcelona.

AC Milan squad for Champions League:

Goalkeepers: Christian Abiati, Marco Amelia, Gabriel and Davide Narduzzo (B list)

Defenders: Ignazio Abate, Francesco Acerbi, Luca Antonini, Daniele Bonera, Mattia De Sciglio, Djamel Mesbah, Philippe Mexes, Mario Yepes and Cristian Zapata.

Midfielders: Massimo Ambrosini, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Kevin Constant, Nigel De Jong, Urby Emmanuelson, Mathieu Flamini, Ricardo Montolivo, Antonio Nicerino and Andria Carmona (B list).

Strikers: Robinho Stephane El Shaarawy, Bojan Krkic, Giampaolo Pazzini, Alexandre Pato and Simone Andra Ganz (B list).

You guys are really foolish! I think you guys at GSN use words at your own will withoutknowing the meaning.. What has “axed from the squad” got to do here? He didn’t play for them in the champions league last year… He is hurt at he moment and can’t play,..he still has the chance to be added to the squad, should he get well and pick up his form by Janauary… From the above points, what has the phrase “Axed FROM THE SQUAD” got to do with it here?

  2. COCONUTHEAD says:

GSN has a habit of using words without actually understanding what they mean. Like Abrantie-In Da House correctly stated: Muntari has a knee injury which he is nursing. Which coach in his right mind would include a player with a knee injury in his squad. I have been expecting some improvement from this website for a while; but it looks like hell will have to freeze over before that happens.

  3. Musah Fifa says:

GSN hate Muntari too much so when something like this happen they elaborate it, they hate the guy and i don´t know why?

    • Rasheed says:

Musah it is not GSN who hates Muntari but Sulley hates “himself”.Sulley should have looked at his humble family and where he came from before settling on that “Menaye”.There are so many God fearing muslem ladies and Sulley left them for wordly vanity.I don’t wish sulley ill luck, but coming back to his form will be a miracle. If a footballer gets a serious knee injury at the age of “28″,then only God can rescue that person.

GNS you really have a problem wit your editors or whoever is responsible for captions.

  5. philosopha says:

@Rasheed I am a muslem and I don’t agree with you. How many muslem gave birth to kafir’s ? Take a look at Abraham and Jesus and Mohammed is God who chose a good muslem and a good cristian. Do you know how many muslems married to muslem women when they both don’t follow the religion ? So just wish them the best and let allah be the judge.

  6. Rock says:

Masa we shd mind our language, why shd we in our right senses insult some one who can be our mate, friend, sibling or our employer? If we have any problem we can draw their attention. In any case is muntari not ac milan player? Is he not part of their squad for the league? So if he is not part of their champs league squad what has happened to him? Pato is part of the squad, isnt he injured? We shd be mindful of our comments,we shdnt just make any comment…food 4 tot.

  7. swalloor says:

i agree wit u philosofa. And@ Rasheed, thats a useless comment there.
