Muntari: AC Milan star escapes ban after horror challenge on Dodo
Sulley Muntari

AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari will face no action for his horror challenge on Dodo during the Milan derby on Sunday.

The Italian Football Association has confirmed that the Ghanaian international will not be charged retrospectively for the incident during the 1-1 stalemate at the San Siro.

Muntari has been saved from a potential three-match ban after he elbowed the Brazilian defender during the hotly contested tie.

The video evidence would appear to be pretty conclusive as the midfielder elbowed Dodo and left him needing medical assistance after his lips were bust.

But the former Portsmouth man has been left off the hook as it appears the incident was purely accidental.
