Sulley Muniru will wear the number 48 jersey at CFR Cluj

Sulley Muntari’s younger brother Muniru says he decided to wear jersey number 48 at his club Romanian club Cluj to celebrate the birthday of his mother.

Muniru’s mother Hajia Kande turns 48 in December and the versatile midfielder believes wearing the number is a perfect gift for her.

“My mum will be 48 years in December and I decided to wear this jersey number as a special present.

“She has played a key role in myself and I love her so much. I now have to play well to make her happy.”

The younger brother of Ghana international Sulley Muntari joined the Romanian side on a three-year contract  this month.

Muniru could not make his debut on Monday against Vaslui in a league due to a foot injury.
