Mubarak Wakaso is ready to play his first match Espanyol after serving ban

Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso will play his first game for Espanyol this weekend after serving a suspension for his late return from the 2013 Nations Cup.

The 22-year-old was slapped with a one-week suspension and a fine for arriving late from the Nations Cup in South Africa where he excelled for Ghana.

Wakaso is now expected to play in Sunday’s Spanish league match at home to Real Valladolid.

The ex AshantiGold, Elche and Villareal player’s availability is a massive boost for the White and Blues as they battle their way out of relegation.

Wakaso has hit a rich vein of form to help Javier Aguirre’s side.

He was one of the best players at the Nations Cup where he emerged join top scorer with four goals.

Ghana should manage this guy very well cos he has so much confidence and qualities. I like the way he steps up to take a penalty kick.I always wonders after the nation’s cup that why did AA changed Wakaso knowing he is the best penalty taker and you have few minutes for shoot out? I really don’t understand unless someone helps me to understand why AA did such a thing.

  2. kwame says:

Maybe AA took bribe from Burkina

  3. Eben says:

That was not the case. Wakaso signalled Akwesi Appiah to substitute hlm cos he was suffering from an injury he picked up in the course of the game.
