South Africa Premier Soccer League side Mpumalanga Black Aces have announced that Ghana midfielder Edwin Gyimah has joined them on a permanent deal.

Reports claimed Gyimah had been loaned to AmaZayoni from SuperSport United in one of the shock transfers this season.

The 23-year-old was a key player for SuperSport United last season and targeted by European clubs

But statement by Mpumalanga Black Aces read: “Aces today met with the agent and player and signed an outright purchase for a permanent transfer to AmaZayoni.”

Aces chairman Mario Morfou was excited to have negotiated a genuinely top-class player and now firmly believes that the squad has a pedigree to be very competitive this season.

"Edwin is an excellent player and a genuine marque signing and we are delighted to have him playing in the Aces colours this season," Morfou who told blackaces.co.za that despite media utterances of a loan deal, the player had been bought for an undisclosed fee.

Gyimah will join Aces at training today and is expected to play a friendly against Baroka FC on Saturday.
