Richard Mpong is delighted to have completed his switch to Kotoko

By Patrick Akoto

Promising winger Richard Mpong is relieved to have completed his move to local giants Asante Kotoko.

The 21-year-old finally sealed the dotted lines on the transfer day deadline to close a long transfer saga.

Mpong had been agitating for a transfer to the Ghanaian League champions in the off-season and says he’s relieved to  finally see the transfer go through, as his future was left in limbo, with just days for the start of the new season.

“At long last the good lord has answered my prayer.” Mpong said

The highly-rated player will walk straight into the star-studded Kotoko team once he proves his fitness.

I think this years market activities was done in a very very professional way, at least if not all clubs. First time players were made to undergo fitness tests – am yet to knw if some failed though-, widely publicised by the media, full of twists and turns lyk the Bekoe, Mpong, Sumaila nd Yahaya Mohammed’s loan deals, etc. I think we are learning and hopefully next year, the transfer fees and salaries will be made public too. Iam yet to hear of any arrangement for the live telecasts of matches.Trust you me, it has really help bring the league this far.

these are the moves we should be making…we should be keeping our best players IN ghana and not transferring them to other african leagues
