Bouchaib El Ahrach from Morocco will handle Berekum Chelsea's match against Al Ahly
By Ali Ibrahim Labaran
Referee Bouchaib El Ahrach has been selected to handle Sunday’s CAF Champions League between Berekum Chelsea and Al Ahly in Accra.
The 40-year-old FIFA referee was the centre man when Esperance played ASO Chlef of Algeria last month in the 2012 CAF Champions League Group A match.
El Ahrach also handled three matches during the qualifiers of this year’s competition including Al Ahly’s final first leg game against Stade Malien.
The Moroccan will be assisted on the lines by his compatriots Redouane Achik and Rouani Bouazza.
The fourth referee is Mabrouk Mounir also from Morocco.
Chelsea will host six-time champions Al Ahly at the Accra Sports Stadium and are seeking to avenge the 4-1 defeat in the corresponding fixture.
CAF appointed a north african officials in the first leg so why another one in the 2nd leg.usually caf appoints officials within the zone where the match is taking place.therefore either a west or east african officials would have been fine.
What is CAF up to?
You see how CAF want to push Chelsea out?
Why north african? These guys are like brothers
Simple, that GFA boss now need to wise up and watch carefully because if the match is being played in kumasi-Ghana and the ref misbehaves toward the home team and anything happens as result of poor decision, its his choice. North african refs to always favor north african teams to win the caf champs lge, cafs preference. and its now time for hayoutu to be drop from the caf office.
