More changes to hit Ghana squad ahead of CHAN tournament

Coach Maxwell Konadu says there will be even more changes in his team ahead of Ghana’s campaign at the CHAN tournament.

The home-based Black Stars team won its first ever WAFU Nations Cup hosted on home soil.

The team beat Senegal 3-1 to lift the trophy in Kumasi on Thursday.

The Ghana team was however not overly convincing throughout the eight-nation tournament.

And coach Konadu wants to bolster his team by bringing in more players before his side embarks on CHAN tournament which kicks off on January 11 in South Africa.

“We will continue with our monitoring of players on the local scene with three matches left to the end of the first round,” he told Metro FM.

“There are some players we are looking at in particular and we will be inviting them.

“I think there is a friendly match against Mali in Accra before we move into our pre-tournament camping.

“So we will bring in these players to see what they can offer. So yes, there will be some additions and subtractions made to the team before we go for the CHAN.”
