Hearts of Oak head coach Mohammed Polo insists he is still in charge at the Capital club despite local media reports claiming he has been fired.

Reports incensed the former Ghana international has been fired after the Phobians disgraceful exit from the Ghana FA Cup competition after losing to second-tier side Gold Stars.

Hearts issued an official statement denying the reports carried on local radio stations and on social media and Polo has fortified words of his employers by stating he is still head coach at the club.

“I am still in charge at Hearts of Oak. I am not worried at all that people are reporting a story about my sack, which is not true,” Polo told CampioneSports.net.

Polo's spell at Hearts might not last till the end of the current Ghanaian season as he has started encountering problems with his playing body and backroom staff.

Reports claim last week that Hearts Managing Director Neil Armstrong has already held discussions with Berekum Chelsea head coach Anthony Lokko about replacing Polo.

Hearts have slipped to third on the section since Polo took over after dropping five points from a possible nine.
