Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has been slapped with a three-game ban for his sending off in AC Milan’s 1-0 defeat to Inter last Sunday.

The 29-year-old received a straight red card after a heated altercation with Zdravko Kuzmanovic in the Milan derby.

The Ghana international has now been slapped with a three-game ban which means he will be unavailable for the Rossoneri when the Serie-A resumes next year.

Muntari will miss games against Atalanta, Sassuolo and Verona.

The news will come as a massive blow to Milan who have been struggling in Serie-A this season.

The Italian giants are languishing in 13th and in great need of a winning run to help them break into the all-important Champions League qualification spot.
