Obed Ansah is set to join Kotoko in a move that will shock many fans

By Patrick Akoto

Midfielder Obed Ansah has arrived in Kumasi to complete a shock move to Asante Kotoko, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The Porcupine Warriors have identified the 24-year-old as a direct replacement for Daniel Nii Adjei who has joined Congolese giants TP Mazembe.

Negotiations between the player’s representative and the club have reached an advanced stage with the ex-Hearts workaholic enforcer expected to put pen to paper to a mouth-watering deal.

“As I speak with you Obed is in Kumasi with me. Kotoko have spoken to us extensively about Obed and we’re almost done,” Ansah’s local agent Prince Omar told Kumasi-based Fox FM

“They want a direct replacement for Daniel Nii Adjei and they believe he is the right man to do that job. Obed is also willing to play for Kotoko as well.

“We don’t want to disrupt them because of Wednesday’s game against Aduana. He may even travel with the team to watch the game at Dorma.

“He (Ansah) will then stay and sign the agreement with  Kotoko. He will also train with the team to have an idea about their training regime.

“We don’t envisage any last minute hitches. We hope to conclude the deal soon so he can start his career with Kotoko.”

Ansah joined second-tier Tarkwa United last year after he refused to extend his contract with Hearts.

  5. Me says:

No wonder, Kotoko is not performing. Majority of their players are retired players. Look at Helegbe, Ransford Osei, Nti Boakye, Nafiu and many more. Now that they have sold your colour TV (Nii Adjei) and are going to buy black and white TV (Obed Ansah) they are doomed forever………lol
