Former Ghana youth star Michael Helegbe is delighted with his progress in Lebanon after he scored 14 goals in 11 games for SC Tripoli.

The 29-year-old has taken the Lebanese Premier League by storm since his arrival at the start of the season from Ghanaian side Medeama SC, leading the top scorers chart with 14 goals from 11 games.

"When I came here, my team had already began the pre-season but I joined quickly and I have gelled well with squad and understood the game," he told Accra-based Asempa FM.

Helegbe in his early years had spells in Norway, Belgium and France before returning to Ghana to revive his career - rejoining Liberty Professionals, then later Kotoko before Medeama SC.

"When I returned home, I decided to focus on recapturing my game and I think I did that with the help of a lot men in the game who were very influential. Like Sabhan Quaye, Didi Dramani and most hands I passed through," he added.
