   whoever wrote this article is fool.When did any paper mention that Essien wanted the deal so much,he took a pay cut.
   When you deduct the top rate tax Essien pay in the UK and national insurance and compare the tax rate in Spain,Essien earn more.
   The tax system in the uk is killing.

   What is your level of economics. Essien took a pay cut on his gross. You are comparing gross salary to net by bringing in taxes

     @thegreatest-you are the greatest fool,are you blind,daft or plain greatest stupid.I am maKING A POINT THAT whether pay cut or not,Essien earns more playing for Madrid.
     The writer said Essien WANTED the deal ”SO MUCH”,he took a pay cut.He did not take a pay cut because he wanted the deal sooo much.

   What essien need now is a middle class team to marshal its midfield not a top european team. It is clear essien is past his prime though he shows glimpse of his old self sometimes. He is not needed at madrid that much otherwise he would be playing somewhere in The middle not as an improvised left back, he can never show his best there, should seriously weigh his options in next year

   @thegreat, l beg to differ with you. Gross pay minus deductions which tax is part of, will give you the net pay. So what is your point? Besides, where in Economics did you see payroll analysis? Essien played very well yesterday. If only Ronaldo can do a little bit of defending, that position will be monopolised by him.

   REAL MADRID HAS A BETTER CHANCE WINNING THE CHAMPS LEAGUE THAN CHELSEA. I CAME ON HERE AND SUGGESTED ESSIEN GO TO REAL MADRID. UNLIKE MANY OF HIS COMPATRIOTS, ESSIEN, WITH 2 CAREER ENDING KNEE SURGERIES IS PROVING TO THE WORLD THAT HE CAN STILL PLAY TOP LEVEL SOCCER WITH THE BEST OF THEM.
