Michael Essien starts for Real Madrid against Barcelona

Ghana ace Michael Essien has been named in Real Madrid’s starting line-up to face Barcelona in Saturday’s Spanish La Liga Classico.

The on-loan Chelsea player will start at right back in a similar he flourished during the Copa del Rey first leg tie at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Essien was an 83rd minute substitute in last Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Barcelona in the return leg of the Copa del Rey.

Official Real Madrid starting XI: Lòpez, Ramos, Essien, Modri?, Callejòn, Benzema, Pepe, Kaka, Coentrao,Morata,Varane.

FC Barcelona’s starting line-up: Valdés, Alves, Piqué, Mascherano, Alba; Sergio, Thiago, Iniesta; Villa, Messi and Pedro.
