Michael Essien arrived in Milan on Friday night.

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has passed a medical at AC Milan and will complete his move on Monday, GHANASoccernet.com can confirm.

Earlier on Sunday, there were reports suggesting that the former Chelsea anchorman  failed a Milan medical.

According to La Repubblica, the Ghana international failed tests related to an old anterior cruciate ligament injury.

After a couple of hours, new reports from Sky Sport Italia and the Corriere dello Sport maintained he passed the second round of stress tests at the Milanello training ground.

Essien arrived in Milan on Friday evening and had his first medical on Saturday morning.

He is expected to put pen to paper to an 18-month contract after he was released by the English Premier League side.

    @OGYA: What did Mou do. He has job to save and our man Essien was not in his plan at Chelsea. Remember, Essien was to face worse situation last season when Mou resued him. Mou was critsized bitterly at Madrid for giving Essien that chance. We should rather appreciate Mou
