Michael Essien has no love for politics

Chelsea star Michael Essien has laughed off the prospect of entering politics.

Such is Essien’s popularity in Ghana that he would probably win any election in a landslide.

“No, no, the last thing I would do is politics. I hate politics. I know some big men who are in politics but I would never get involved in politics myself,” Essien told chelseafc.com.

“But that is something I have been thinking about, what I will do once I hang up my boots.

“At the moment I feel I will go back to the Michael Essien foundation and have a full time job with that. I want to help the kids become somebody in the future.

“It would all be for the foundation. I only want to focus on helping others when I hang up my boots. That’s what I want to do.”
