Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has hailed the qualities of his compatriot Christian Atsu.
Atsu was snapped up by the English side on a four-year deal during the transfer window and was immediately loaned out him out to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.
Essien, who returned from international duty with the Black Stars in their 2-1 win over Zambia in a 2014 World Cup qualifier has hailed the abilities of the youngster.
“I’ve known Christian for a little while now, and I saw him when we met up with the national team recently,’ he told official Chelsea website.
‘He’s a level-headed boy, a very good player and hopefully he will do well for Chelsea in the future.
‘He is a winger who plays mainly on the right-hand side although he is left-footed, so he likes to cut inside, and he is quite quick as well.
He is only young but already you can see he has an eye for goal.”
The Ghanaian winger may have to wait a little longer to make his debut for Vitesse due to paperwork issues.
