Asante Kotoko are expecting captain Michael Akuffu to return to training with his proposed move to Libya yet to go through.

The Ghanaian champions accepted a US$ 150,000 offer from Al Ahli Sports Club but his transfer is yet to be concretized due to the current politically-induced violence in the North African country.

Kotoko had previously rejected a US$ 100,000 deal from another Libyan outfit Al Akhdar.

A club statement read: “Michael Akuffo’s deal has not been completed. He is expected to train with team as soon as possible while waiting for confirmation from the club he wants to play for.”

Akuffu joined Kotoko four seasons ago from Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy and has been a faithful servant.

He captained the team to win the league and FA Cup double this season.

Akuffu was a member of the Ghana team which won silver at the 2014 African Nation Championship in South Africa.
