Defender John Mensah will lead the Ghana team when they take on Tunisia in the quarter final Nations Cup clash on Sunday.
The Olympique Lyon player has not played in the tournament since his sending off in the Black Stars’ opening game against Botswana.
The 29-year-old sat out training for days after picking up a thigh strain in the 1-0 win over the Zebras where he scored the eventual winner.
He has however been passed fit and returns to take his captain armband after being named in the Black Stars lineup to face Tunisia at the Stade de Franceville.
Right-back John Paintsil took over the captaincy in Mensah’s absence but will start from the bench against the Carthage Eagles.
