Medeama have announced the suspension of winger Theophilus Anoobah with immediate effect for failing to turn up for pre-season.

The CHAN star has refused to turn up for training since the start of the pre-season.

The club has decided to put him in the cooler with his conduct expected to be reported to the Ghana FA.

Club president Moses Armah has confirmed the sanction and says they club will deal with the issue.

“Medeama would like to announce the suspension of winger Theophilus Anoobah with immediate effect,” club president Moses Armah said in a statement released on the club's official website on Wednesday.

“The club has taken such a sanction after he refused to turn up for training.

“We have made several efforts to get to him but to no avail. His conduct has been reported to the Ghana FA.

“We would like to assure supporters that our pre-season programme is on course and confident we’ll take the necessary actions to safeguard the interest of the club.”

Anoobah is angling for a move away from the club despite being contracted to the club till 2016 with Kotoko his preferred destination.

He played a bit-part role for Medeama in their debut campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup this year.
