Reigning champions Medeama are amongst teams to be docked cash incentives for refusing television coverage of their FA Cup matches.

The Tarkwa-based club joins Starke FC and Bibiani Gold Stars to face disciplinary action.

The three clubs have developed the notoriety of refusing entry of television crew to cover their games in the FA Cup competition for reasons yet to be known.

This goes contrary to agreed norms of the competition and the FA Cup Committee says it will take disciplinary action against offending clubs by withholding portions of their due cash incentives.

“It has come to our attention that some clubs have refused television coverage of their FA Cup matches,” FA Cup Committee member Kurt Okraku said during the draw for the Round of 16.

“This is against the agreement for this competition and we will be taking disciplinary actions to that effect.

“The FA Cup Committee will be withholding price incentives for these clubs as punishment for now allowing camera access to their venues.”

The unruly actions of offending clubs form part of the challenges faced by the Ghana FA in their bid to raise sponsorship for its various competitions.
