Medeama set to bolster squad with marquee signings

Medeama team to be fortefied with stars

By Ameenu Shardow

Medeama SC will be launching a massive raid on the transfer market to raise a solid team for next season.

The Tarkwa-based side failed to live up to their pre-season expectations as title challengers – finishing fourth in the just ended campaign.

But management is determined to bring in seasoned Premier League players to avoid the team’s stuttering start to the campaign to ultimately wrestle the title off Asante Kotoko.

“We will be looking at the technical report from the coaches and look at the departments that are weak so we can strengthen in such areas,” Executive Vice President of Medeama Albert Commey told Radio XYZ.

“We will recruit very seasoned players, we are not going to change the entire team drastically though but we are going to make sure that we get players that are better than what we have.

“We want to make sure that at least we do better than we did last season.”

The club last month sealed a mouthwatering 3-year sponsorship deal with mining giants Goldfields and therefore are believed to possess the financial muscle to bulldoze their way through the transfer market.

  2. collins Cudjoe says:

Team building is a systematic approach and needs the contribution, determination and ready to die spirit of each member of the team. Names never play football and I want to remind all Medeama fans about this. We had a different team last season and we were 4th on the league table. We bolstered our squad with huge spendings and still we were 4th once again. We should find the right rythm and remedy for the team and stop talking of signing, signing, signing because we have financial backing. Let not forget we have junior side.
    Medeama! We never give up.
    Collinto papa for you.

go to the windy professionals academy(national sports college) .you will get better players. that was where kotoko purchase their midfield general ‘michael anaba’ and as a result of that they were able to win the league.accra hearts of oak also purchased thomas abbey from the same academy and they were lying second on the league table in the first round but he got injured and its affected the performance of the team and i believe if he was not injured it would have been very difficult for kotoko to win the league.
