Medeama made sure they ended the year on a winning note as they saw off Score FC 2-1 to progress to the next stage of the Ghana MTN FA Cup on Sunday.
Two goals from Samuel Nzemoaba and Nathaniel Asamoah ensured the Mauve and Yellows left the Koforidua Park with a win and a passage to the round of 32.
The Tarkwa-based side had been inconsistent in the Ghana Premier League but came out all gun-blazing to record the win away from home.
The FA Cup holders will know their next opponent after the draw for the round of 32 is made.
The players have been given time off to celebrate Christmas and are expected to return to training on Friday January 3, 2014.
