Medeama have confirmed the receipt of their prize package for winning this year’s MTN FA Cup denying earlier reports that suggested otherwise.

Media reports had suggested on Thursday that the Mauve and Yellows had not received the GHS 30,000 prize money for beating Kotoko to lift the title six months ago.

Club’s Chief Executive James Essilfie who was quoted as making the claims has however denied the reports insisting it’s inaccurate.

“I did not say that Medeama has not received the prize package for winning the FA Cup,” Essilfie told GHANAsoccernet.com

“What I said was that we had not received the money promised by MTN to aid our Africa campaign.

“But they (MTN) have informed us to contact the FA for our cash. So it’s important we put the issues in perspective.”

The giants telecommunication network have pledged to support the Tarkwa-based side with US$ 25000 ahead of their involvement in next year’s CAF Confederations Cup.
