Medeama managed a 1-0 win at New Edubiase

Kabiru Moro scored the only goal of the match for Medeama as they grinded out a morale-boosting 1-0 win at New Edubiase in the Ghanaian top-flight on Wednesday.

The bulky striker slotted home the match winner five minutes into the second half to hand the visitors the maximum point and their first away win of the season.

The Mauve and Yellows, looking to get their campaign back on track after their 2-2 draw at Inter Allies, found Edubiase in resilient mood as their pressing game stifled the hosts’ attacking threat.

The home side were the first to threaten with their strikers piling pressure on Medeama but the defenders managed to thwart their effort with a well-worked out performance at Bekwai.

The defeat will leave coach Antony Commey seething with anger while his opponent number with be delighted with the result ahead of their continental assignment this weekend.

The win will serve as real boost to the Tarkwa-based ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup tie against MAS Fez on Sunday.

Medeama will host the first leg at the Essipong stadium before they travel to Morocco to play the return leg against the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup champions.
