Medeama hold the advantage to beat financially-stricken Moroccan side Maghreb Association Sportive de Fez in the Confederation Cup first qualifying round first leg tie on Sunday.

The debutants progressed to this stage after recording an impressive 4-1 win over Equatorial Guinea side Panthers FC.

MAS Fez drew a bye in the preliminary stage but will test their mettle against the ambitious West African side at the Essipong stadium.

Both sides have been far from convincing in their respective domestic leagues this term but the visitors are the worst hit as they in the relegation zone.

Medeama recorded a massive morale-boosting 1-0 win at New Edubiase in the Ghanaian top-flight on Wednesday while Maghreb lost 1-0 at Association Sportive De Sale.

Medeama will rely on experienced players such as Michael Helegbe, Samuel Adade, Hans Kwofie, Kwame Boahene, Kabiru Moro as well as Victor Ayirey amongst others.

For manager Charly Rossli, he will hope his troops can put their managerial and financial problems behind them as they travel to Ghana to face the Tarkwa-based side.
