Medeama impressive winger Mpong

By Patrick Akoto

Medeama insists they won’t be rushed into deciding on the future of winger Richard Mpong.

The future of the 21-year-old has been hugely speculated after giants Asante Kotoko launched a bid for his services.

His impressive performances for the Mauves and Yellows have also alerted a host of some European clubs who have enquired about his availability.

But the club say the wont be pushed to offer him to any club.

“We have received several offers for the player but we’re not in a rush to sell him,” Public Relations Officer Ebenezer Aidoo told GHANAsoccernet.com

“Kotoko have written to us. But there are some clubs in Germany who are also interested at the moment.

“We want to take our time and ensure we get him the right deal. The interest of the player and the club is what we’re looking at.

“At the right time we will inform the public on the future of the player,”

Mpong marked his debut for the Black Stars during a 1-1 draw against Chile in an international friendly by scoring the opener in the United States.

GO 2 GERMANY. The problem is d local coaches lacks the know-how 2 develop players tactically. Most of em are technically endowed but needs the refinery to bcam world class. Access our best playerz of the league frm KWEKU ESSIEN, klottey, and etc . HOW FAR hav they gone and where are they now? They find it very difficult 2 even breaktru the danish , greece, serbia and cyprus leagues. Other neigbouring african countries find it quite easy 2 see their talents make it outside. IN the nigeria league, almost all their top scorers frm 2003 when JOETEX FRIMPONG won the award wit EL-KANEMI WARRIORS, make it outside. Notable among em is Ahmed Musa who won the award in 2009-10 season wit KANO pillars. He is now one of the best young talents in EUROPE (CSK moskow). Seydou DOUMBIA was also the 2006 top scorer wit AS DENGWELE in the ivorian league. likewise DIDIER YA KONAN- 2007 wit Asec nimosa. They r all doing well in their national teams and wit their clubs- CSK moscow & Hamburg respectively.
They r all touted as the big potentials to replace DROGBA. Why cant it b GHANA?

@ keith- TANX 4 the correction. HONNOVER u are right. He and Anthony annan all starred in the ROSENBURG BK team of NORWAY. BUTwhy is Annan finding it so difficult 2 play in GERMAMY- shalke i mean? There r rumours he wld b going back 2 NORWAY. AND is dat PROGRESS? he sld b moving 4ward.
He sld Return 2 schalke after his loan and fight 4 a breakthrough- an attitude which is lacking in most GH futballers. The reason i respect SULLEY & DEDE so much.

DLIGHT you are right, Ghanaians, some of us are timid and fearful and thats definately the charecter of some players, when u get a chance to go to europe, u gotta let it all out and show them all your talents and skills and potential, and have an attitude or some sort of swag to go with it, yall feel me?!!!! Thats the reason y some of these players do not succeed in europe, they need to play with some attitude and emotions, look at KPB, his swag and confidence, makes him a lil bet of a better player than he is, cus he sees himself as the best on the field, regardless of playing along other superstars who are better than him, or against any opponent who got better players than him, thats why he is able to do certain special things and score amazing goals.

Kwadjo asamoah is one player who needs to play with an attitude, he is a lil too quite, i know not all players are the type that will carry an attitude with them but the attitude really helps your confidence for you to be able to do anything with the ball on the field.
