Medeama Vice President Albert Commey says the club is yet to consider its options on the appointment of a new coach.
The Premier League leaders are currently without a substantive head coach following the decision to sack Tanko Shaibu on Tuesday.
GHANAsoccernet.com has reported that ex Aduana Stars coach Aristica Cioaba is the leading contender for the vacant post.
But Commey says the vacant position is yet to be given the needed thought.
“I am surprised, we have not even thought of that,” he told Accra-based Radio Gold.
Commey also confirmed the decision to sack coach Tanko had nothing to do with the issue of competency.
“We realized that his involvement with the University was dividing his attention,” he added.
“We don’t doubt his competence but we believe we need someone who will do the job on a full time basis.
“We also realized the commitment level was very low so we had to let him go.
“So yes, it is true. It is not about his competency but then we needed someone who has an undivided attention.”
