Augustine Adotey has been appointed the new coach of Medeama following the resignation of Hans Van der Pluijm.
The Ghana U17 women’s team coach has been handed a three-year contract by the Mauves.
Adotey’s appointment came hours after Van der Pluijm quit his job on Tuesday.
The ex-Berekum Chelsea trainer has presided over Medeama’s poor start to the season which has seen them win only once in the Ghanaian top flight.
Adotey, who was assisting the Dutch coach, has now been given the substantive reigns of the team.
He is now expected to step down as head coach of the Ghana U17 female team in order to fully concentrate on his club job.
Adotey guided the Tarkwa-based side to win the Ghana FA Cup last season by defeating Asante Kotoko 1-0 in Accra.
