Ghanaian youth international attacker Maxwell Boadu Acosty inspired Chievo Verona to a 3-2 victory over fellow Serie A side Atalanta on Saturday.

The 21-year-old was introduced as a second half substitute as Chievo manager Giuseppe Sannino assigned him on the right wing  and he made immediate impact by reducing the deficit with a glancing header before setting up two other goals for team-mates Cesar and Maxi Moralez in the 64th and 85th minutes respectively.

Chievo had gone 2-0 down in the opening 45 minutes after some porous defending and it took the Fiorentina loanee who took the place of Stoian just before the resumption after the break to lead them to victory.

His first goal for Chievo had the natural instinct of a predator as he powered home a header from a corner inside the box and also won a free kick which was expertly converted by Cesar before setting up Maxi for the match winner.

Acosty is at Chievo for the entire 2013/14 season as a loanee from Fiorentina and has been impressive in the pre-season scoring four goals and providing five assists.
