Marseille winger Andre Ayew has outlined his desire to join Premier League giants Liverpool this summer after seeing his stock rise following his World Cup campaign with Ghana, according to the Daily Mirror.

Ayew performed impressively for the Black Stars in South America during the tournament, where he managed to get himself on the scoresheet twice against the USA and eventual winners Germany.

He has been linked with Premier League trio Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle as well as a host of European clubs but, according to reports in France, he is desperate to join the Anfield club.

However, despite his enthusiasm for the move, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has yet to confirm his interest in the 24-year-old.

It is thought that he is keen to leave the south coast club following their disappointing sixth placed finish in Ligue 1 last term, and his £60,000 per week wage demands have put off Italian pair Napoli and AC Milan.

In May he said: “The Premier League is a league every player dreams about.

“The English league is the one most followed in Ghana. It’s true that I have a real preference for England.

“I like everything about it; the atmosphere, the game, the fans. There is a lot of intensity. It is a beautiful championship.”

However, Newcastle could also be tempted to launch a move after being spurned for his signature last summer.
