Andre Ayew says he’s scared of the potential departure of Marseille captain Steven Mandanda.

The future of the France international has been hugely speculated in the media with reports suggesting he will leave the Stade Velodrome at the end of the current campaign.

The experienced goalkeeper has been linked with a number of top clubs in Europe including Arsenal and Athletico Madrid.

However, Ghana international Andre Ayew says he is afraid of the exit of the 28-year-old.

“You ask if the departure of Mandanda scares me? Yes, of course, it does scare me,” he said

“He is our captain and somebody I have known for seven years. We have a close relationship.

“It’s not easy hearing that he will leave but I think he will stay. We do not really talk about that but I’m hoping he stays.”

Ayew bagged a hat-trick for the side as they beat Ajaccio 3-1 over the weekend.
