French giants Olympique Marseille have entered the transfer market to search for a new striker to replace Jordan Ayew after loaning out the Ghana attacker to fellow Ligue 1 side Sochaux.

Marseille have allowed the 22-year-old to move to the Stade Auguste Bonal for the rest of the season after he failed to command regular playing time at the Stade Velodrome.

With Marseille's attack misfiring, interim manager Jose Anigo wants to quickly bring in a striker who can produce the goals for Les Olympians.

The nine-time French champions have already started negotiations with AC Milan about signing French youth striker M'Baye Niang on loan for the rest of the season.

Jordan will return to Marseille at the end of the season.
