Marseille coach Anigo: Andre Ayew absence has affected us

Marseille coach Jose Anigo has admitted the absence of their talisman has affected their campaign this season.

Ayew is due to return to the pitch in early February after undergoing a surgery on his knee.

Marseille have struggled for form without their Ghanaian talisman and manager Jose Anigo has attributed that to the absence of the influential winger.

“This system is perfect if you have André Ayew and Mathieu Valbuena. Last season we finished second with this formation and André and Mathieu,” Anigo said

“ Without them, it just doesn’t work. Having them in the team changes a lot of things.”
