Ex-France captain Marcel Desailly will not apply for the vacant Black Stars coaching job with confidants saying he is disinterested.
Ghanaââ¬â¢s Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga visited Desailly at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra, a facility owned by the former Chelsea defender last month.
The media swiftly linked him to the then newly created technical adviser position and but Desaillyââ¬â¢s representative Jamil Maraby dismissed those rumours.
He said the former AC Milan defender would reject an offer from the Ghana FA if approached.
ââ¬ÅThe Minister visited Marcel Desaillyââ¬â¢s Sports Complex and had discussions over how to improve facilities and infrastructure in the country,â⬠Maraby told GHANAsoccernet.com three weeks ago.
ââ¬ÅThere was no point in time that the job of technical adviser was raised. He [Desailly] has also not been approached.
ââ¬ÅBut then even if he is approached, he will not accept the job.ââ¬
Desailly has been linked with the Ghana coaching job since 2010 but has either withdrawn from the race or overlooked by the Ghana federation.
It has been reported that ex-internationals Kim Grant and Otto Addo have applied for the job.
