Kojo Frimpong has been handed a six-month jail sentence for admitting to stealing building materials from Asante Kotokoââ¬â¢s training site at Adarko Jarchie.
Frimpong was apprehended carrying iron rods from the training site at the time the champions were losing 1-0 to Heart of Lions last Wednesday.
The Ejisu Magistrate Court has now sentenced the Kumasi resident to six-month imprisonment having admitted in open court of the theft.
ââ¬ÅWell, he admitted to being guilty of stealing the iron rods and pleaded for leniency,â⬠Kotokoââ¬â¢s Operations Manager George Kennedy revealed to Metro FM after the hearing.
