Malawi to start preparation this month for Ghana clash

Posted On Wednesday, 19th September 2012

Malawi have begun preparations to play Ghana next month

Malawi will start camping next week ahead of their clash with Ghana for a slot at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Flames will take on the Black Stars in the second-leg of the final qualifier in Lilongwe next month.

Coach Kinna Phiri will start an early camp to ensure that they overturn the 2-0 deficit from the first-leg.

Malawi will start their camping on 23 September to ensure that they have good team spirit and tactics well rehearsed for the game.

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah doesn’t have that luxury of long camping because most of his players ply their trade in Europe.

The players, according to FIFA rules, must be released seven days before a qualifier.

U can see the team work among them the last time..

    • Africanus says:

Yes, it is because of the long camping advantage they have. That is the biggest difficulty the Black Stars face, lack of time for preparation, we only get 4 days before competitive matches. That is why in spite of the many talents we have, we were outplayed by Malawi in Accra.

He is trying to please his employers, although all hope is lost. Do anything just to hang on to his job, not a bad idea to me.

  3. selfmade says:

Now since the artificial turf didn’t worked out for him,he is talking about early camping.. funny man!!! This guy is confused and no wonder he keeps on consulting a physical education coach in the person of renard hoping that that guy can help him beat ghana ridiculous man!!! Some teams doesn’t have the spirit to beat ghana and Malawi is one of such team.. they had a wonderful team work than the bs and still lost.. they had a spirited team coordination and still had their butt flocked by two solid goals… there are still minnows in soccer and Malawi is one of them… they should bring all their so called professionals and camp for three months,we ll still kicked em,slapped them and jumped over them cuz they are not in our class

  4. malawian says:

@Selfmade if u look at the previous comments they have never bi a negative comment towards yo black stars bt u have cum out in a very bitter way towards us.we are not denying we lost to u and of course our coach consulted with the zambian.n to me it makes perfect sense this is a guy who won the sfcon n has beaten u guys twicw am i lying ma friend???no u nid 2 grow up and be mature ma man.if we are minnows dats ryt and we respect u guys bt am afraid ur very provocative.its not worth it ma man.here is a cup of water n grow up

  5. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

COACH PHIRI IS ALWAYS BORROWING. PHIRI IN AKAN MEANS BORROW…LOL WHEN WILL HE ALSO LEND TO OTHERS?…HMMM

ANYWAY, TRY HARD. U MAY HVE A SHOT AGAINST OUR ALUGUNTUGUI COACH APPIAH.

  6. malawian says:

@At selfmade i forgort i think u dont have issues with us.i think ur hurting jst coz mr banda went 2 renard.now we re are not african champs zambia are,we actually lost to u bt zambia has beaten u twice.who by the way we beat ourselves.bt they have never complained so instaed of us focus on zambia ur real ones u hate.

  7. selfmade says:

@ malawian…listen man, didn’t your coach peeved because of the kamuzu staduim? Didn’t he cited the pitch as the mean reasons why he wanted the match to be stage in kamuzu? Didn’t he drummed home the fact that the pitch has be unfriendly to visiting teams? So what why am i hating on u because i didn’t say nothing from what your coach said!! Your coach said after the match in Ghana that the flames lost because of inexperienced and then turn around to blame the ref because according to him,the Algeriaan ref has come for a revenge because the so called flames has beaten them three nil!! He is simply a walking contraction always opening his mouth here and there and upon all these talks,he hardly performs! When he consulted renard, renard told him it ll be difficult to beat Ghana at home but this coach came out saying he is coming to beat us at home!! Again, i don’t have any problem of him consulting the zambian coach( he was our physical trainer here in ghana), but a matured coach ll keep this a secret as is even an embarrassing to seek advice from another country coach!!! That’s highly irresponsible and can only happened in Malawi cuz if this has happened in ghana and we lost, people would have called for your head!!! There are some countries who are underdogs in football and Ghana ll always be an underdogs when we are to meet Brazil because we all know that Brazil is ahead of us no matter our football pedigree!! There are some countries who are known minnows and i need not remind u that Malawi is definitely one esp when they as playing against the likes of Ghana or any other well established football nations in Africa!!! Mr malawian,am i wrong in calling Malawi minnows from this analogy!!! Your coach talks too much

  8. selfmade says:

@ malawian….Malawi is not Zambia and at least i can say that Zambia has more talent than the so called flames and Zambia has being African underachievers for a long time but one any keen observer can see the potentials they possessed unlike Malawi which is at the fundamental stage of football development!! It took Zambia 50 yrs to be afcon champions and wasn’t at once unlike malawians who think they can easily beat Ghana on a silver platter with a very deceiveing coach always talking l!! Miracles do happens in football but sometimes it takes a long time for teams like malawis,Lesothos,Zambians etc to perform one so chill and wait for you long ride like 60 yrs to see if a miracle ll happened to your football team too!!! Viva the revolutioncion

  9. Dr Who says:

We‘ll still beat them if they camp for a year.no matter how big a cat grows,it can never become a lion.

  10. selfmade says:

The national team of brazil, selecao, has never being beaten by any African nation being in competitive or friendly matches!! One may asked why and of course the answer is simple, they have the talent to beat us and moreover they have an awesome pedigree in football to such amendment that the moment they meet any African team, that African team is already physiological and mentally defeated… For instance, during the last worldcup in sa,ivory coast comparatively was almost equal to Brazil in terms of talent, depth, class etc.. this is an ivorian team which has superstars in almost all department of the game and playing equally in highly competitive leagues but was still defeated by the brazilians simply because of selecaos pedigree in the game!!! Sometimes in football is not all about your level of camping or the players that u have got but rather the pedigree of your team! That’s madrid will always be madrid though they have not won the champions league for a long time and most teams are scared of them simply because of their pedigree( past records)…. the malawians has a great game in ghana but were still beaten because they were psychological defeated by the name Ghana period and nobody can convinced me on this!!! If it was for this, they could have even score a goal in ghana but were so scare and reluctant to even move forward and it was tactical too because the coach upon all his noise, could have made early sub esp in the first half but he was also scared too period!!! Names play football and that’s why is always the traditional powerhouses who invariably qualifies for major competition, win most of these competition and that’s why it has taken uganda more than 38 yrs to

  12. selfmade says:

@ muka…. u simply can’t stand me and all u can say is that my comments are boring!!! Facts are scared but comments are free..

  13. muka says:

@selfmade i can stand u but am afraid am the only one thus far.see not even after i commeted.maybe u wil see after this sum or two may even comment.i think every1 else thinks ur jst an attention freek with the comments u put up after googling some information.every1 can do that ma friend they just dont have tym to spend on useless activities.i jst dont think u have got a life apart from making irrational and irrelevant comment and that has got nothing to do wit facts being free

  14. selfmade says:

@ muka… listen man,am not even in Ghana but in big apple new York and i have a life but sometimes when people failed to understand u,u have to at least explainsn yourself…. mister,i always see u over here so does it means that u have no life!! At least am in Ghana site and from your name,i can say u are a zambian,so if we compared the two of us who is internet-trolling? I have a life by his grace and am here for the love of the game!! Facts are scare, comments are free..that’s the beauty of democracy!! Viva he revolutioncion!!!

  15. zambian says:
