James Sangala waving off after sending off against Ghana
By Ameenu Shardow
Malawi have already started looking at options to replace James Sangala who is suspended for the return 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Ghana.
The 26-year-old was sent off after receiving his second yellow card late on in the first leg encounter last Saturday in Accra.
Sangala’s defensive partner Moses Chavula admits to the massive loss but says the team will come up with the right replacement for the second leg match to be played next month in Blantyre.
“Sangala is a very good defender and we will miss him but am sure we will find the right replacement for the game in Malawi,” Chavula said.
Malawi must overturn a 2-0 deficit suffered in the first leg to pip Ghana to one of the 15 qualification slots for the finals to be hosted in South Africa early next year.
Malawi cannot beat Ghana in the next ten years. We are more experienced, superior in talents and more ready. No defender in Africa can stop our attackers and midfielders. Essien and Muntari, KPB, Wakaso and Abeyie are all coming back to the squad.
Is a good news that he ll miss the match that he is a very very good player… woow malawi has a great player in that dude!!! He had a wonerful game marking most of our players, bullying them, winning most of the 50 balls and has alot of stamina!!! I think he can make it in europe coz he is such a fine player!!! Very similar to essien but a bit wild!!! U earn my respect boy!! Viva the revolutioncion!!!
The referee was a nice guy that gave him the audacity to play like that. He can’t play that rough tackling in a serious tournament. Ask Essien And Muntari about that style of play – red card becomes your best friend.
