Malawi lost 1-0 in an exhibition game to Liberia on Tuesday
Ghana’s 2013 Nations Cup qualification opponents, Malawi suffered a 1-0 defeat to Liberia in a strength-testing game at the National Complex in Monrovia on Tuesday evening.
Midfielder Zah Rahan Krangar sent home a powerful drive two minutes from time to claim victory for the Lone Stars over the South Africans.
Malawi coach Kinnah Phiri used the game to test the battle readiness of his charges as they prepare to take on the Black Stars in the first leg of 2013 Nations Cup qualifier.
The Flames are expected to enplane to Accra on Thursday to round up preparations for Saturday’s crucial qualifier against Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Malawi are chasing only their third Nations Cup qualification ticket and must overcome the Black Stars to seal a spot in next January’s event.

@ tiger. Lol, beautiful football, black stars hasn’t played beautiful football in a long while. I think the last time was against the usa in 2006 wc. WE are Champs starting to defend our title this weekend. I wish Malawi all the best of luck in their fixture with whoever, at least a draw neighbors. U can learn from a neighbors determination. Its quite a pitty how u ghanaians are convinced of victory on saturday..the only reason why malawi lost was coz of fatigue after 2 long flights on monday plus the professionals didn’t rest nor train atall..on saturday ghana wl join a string of so called big guns conquered by the flames..so far we have EGYPT,Nigeria,IVORY COAST,drc and most recently th champs of Africa ZAMBIA..watchout for the malawian number 10,11 and the goalkeeper!
