Malawi will play Ghana on September 8
Malawi coach Kinnah Phiri says his side is in the best shape to challenge Ghana for a ticket to next year’s Nations Cup finals.
The Flames face the Black Stars in the first leg of the final round qualifier on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The South Africans are chasing their third Nations Cup appearance and must beat Ghana in a ‘do or die’ encounter.
Phiri believes his side have developed the right mentality to face the 2012 edition semi-finalists.
The tactician is also counting on 19-year-old striker Gabadini ‘Gabadihno’ Mhango will be a handful for the Black Stars.
“I have taken the boy because he is very courageous. Gabadihno doesn’t fear any player when he is on the pitch and this is what we want,” Phiri said.
“I believe it will also help him to have experience with other players from other countries which in turn will boost his performance.”

The biggest problem with Ghanians is that they like underrating there opponents and they talk to much. we in southern Africa talk less and act more. u should know that they are no more underdogs in football nowadays. Watch out! Malawi will hammer u by 2:0. then u will be disappointed like the way berekum Chelsea disappointed u. Go Malawi go!
