Black Maidens beat Equatorial Guinea on Saturday

Ghana recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Equatorial Guinea to enhance their chances of reaching Costa Rice 2014.

Evans Adotey's girls were made to work for their victory in the first-leg tie at the Accra Sports Stadium as Larbi Issaka and top striker Jane Ayieyam scored in either halves to book victory for the African giants.

The Maidens tossed onto the dried and dusty pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium brimming with high confidence of thrashing their visitors but they were made to work for it.

The visitors knowing the very efficient nature of the Ghana side, packed their midfield and gagged the space leaving the Ghanaians to explore for their own opportunities.

With the seemingly difficult job of breaking down the Guineans defence, it took a sublime and combination of individual brilliance to score the first goal.

Issaka completing a fine routine play.

After the break, the second goal arrived through Jane Ayieyam who was kept at bay in the first half.

She directed a header home to cement the win for Ghana.

The bad nature of the picture took off the shine from the game as the players struggled to find their control.
