Ghana winger Solomon Asante took just six minutes of the regulation time to claim the opening goal for TP Mazembe and set up two others for the Congolese as they trounced FUS Rabat 3-0 in their Confederation Cup clash on Saturday.

Asante raced the Ravens into the lead just six minutes into the game at the Stade du TP Mazembe before turning the architect to set up goals for Mbwana Samata and Malian Cheïbane Traoré.

Mazembe's emphatic win has sent them to the summit of Group B with four points from their opening two games.

Defender Kissi Boateng and Asante were named in the starting line-up by Patrice Carteron while Gladson Awako was given a place on the substitute bench.

In a charged atmosphere at the Kamalondo City in Lubumbashi, 'le diable' stole the show with his elusive pace, thrills and gift which can march any world-class standards.

The main stamp of the former Berekum Chelsea playmaker brought the visitors down before a packed stadium.

Asante hurdled two challenges on the right, laced through the area with a considerable measure of skill and technique - and his finishing was that of a masterclass.

He instinctively poked the ball past the goalkeeper with a particular confidence that the world's best finishers would envy.

With his named boldly etched on the afternoon, the rest was for him to turn into the architect to craftily construct his side's victory and he did so with much relish.

Samata benefitted from his expertly-taken cross to score the second in the 12th minute before he cemented his memorable afternoon with yet another architectural duty helping Traore with the third in the 55th minute.

Midfielder Gladson Awako had a feel of the cherry in the last 20 minutes of the game.
