French giants Olympique Lyon have joined the race to sign Ghana striker Mahatma Otoo, according to reports in the Ghanaian media.

The 21-year-old is being courted by English Premier League side Sunderland after his impressive scoring run in the Ghanaian Premier League for Accra Hearts of Oak.

Lyon scouts have equally been following the development of the former Ghana U23 forward and are ready to ship him to the Stade Municipal de Gerland when the transfer window opens.

Both Sunderland and Lyon are impressed with Mahatma who has hit ten goals for Hearts of Oak in domestic football for Hearts of Oak this season.

However, Lyon will have to rush talks as Sunderland have already started talks with Hearts officials.

Mahatma has been named in the Ghana squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan on Sunday.

Is that why he has been called into the BS team.Well I wish him good luck.

  2. Samedge says:

@ Mumpley, you need no sooth-sayer to tell you that it is about time for Mahatma Otoo to get a team Abroad (not Tp mazembe) & also to be called into the national team.

    hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  4. Kofi says:

Mumphry appears a typical Kotoko man who never likes anything about Hearts of Oak. I ell you Mahatma is better than many of the so-caled Black Stars strikers if not Ll of rather. We need to give him the chance.

    • nanakash says:

what did Mumphry to warrant him appearing to be a typical kotoko fan? say what you have to say and leave Kotoko out. As a matter of Fact I always pray for this Boy to be on top of his game and i will be very happy if he gets a chance to play for Man U or any of the Top teams out there simply cus of his dedication to what ever he does. Otoo will never turn his Back on Ghana and he is much much better Thank all the strickers in BS. God be with you MT… from a Kotoko Fun.

If a adomah can play bstars,hw much more m otoo who has indepth quality than him.bear in mind jordan and otoo have similar qualities, can operate from both wings,in the middle and have sublime skills to show.adomah, just running.

  11. marcelo says:

we hype this player too much it is jst a rumour and abt his age when will this cheating change in ghana since i hve been following dis player he has never pass the age of 23yrs bt honestly his is more than 20yrs even though i don’t know him.if this story is true then i do not think he ripe for first team he will go to academy considering he so called age, like what happens to Dominic adiyah.Ghana the age cheating is too much to the extent that a 14yr old is playing for the under 20 team and a player has to be drop because he is having two different date of birth.

  12. Abis Kola says:

    Ahhahahaahhaha semedge nie…..

    More xpection on sunday’s match…
